§ 211.86 Use of approved components, drug product containers, and closures.
Components, drug product containers, and closures approved for use shall be rotated so that the oldest approved stock is used first. Deviation from this requirement is permitted if such deviation is temporary and appropriate.
How BatchGlow handles this
The Staging Dashboard suggests the barrel to take first: the oldest approved stock for an OTC drug, and for a cosmetic the plant's own rule (the oldest receipt or the earliest expiry). Another barrel can be staged only with a reason chosen from a list, and the reason is written on the barrel's place history.
What it asks for, in plain words
- 21 CFR 211.86
- Approved components, containers and closures are rotated so that the oldest approved stock is used first. A deviation is permitted if it is temporary and appropriate.
